2015 Dolcetto
Winemaker Notes:
Aromas of black current, blackberry and mint. Dolcetto is quintessentially Italian, with a natural tension between rich fruit, earthiness, and a taut structure with lively acidity. This wine is light to medium bodied on the pallete and displays medium to firm tannins that coat the whole mouth for a long-lasting finish.
Vineyard Notes:
Dolcetto is an Italian red grape that is believed to have originated in Piedmont and its name means "little sweet one." Our Dolcetto comes from Fox Hill Vineyard a 150-acre ranch owned and managed by Lowell Stone. Located 8 miles north of the town of Hopland along the bans of the upper Russian River and sitting at 900 feet of altitude on a west-facing slope. This site provides outstanding conditions for growing this red varietal.
