This is a medium bodied, well-rounded red with a silky texture. There are fresh spices, cinnamon, dark cherry, and violet aromas at fist swirl. The creamy mouthfeel is balanced with a touch of acid, making this a great food pairing wine. There is a floral character throughout, along with some earth, fresh picked strawberry notes.
Sangiovese is a red grape native to Italy where it is the most widely planted grape varietal and is the backbone to some of the best Italian wines. It has gained international fame mainly in the Chianti Region. Our Sangiovese comes from the "Ancestors Block", our estate-grown five-acre block located next to the Hopland Cemetery which is CCOF certified organic.
