2013 Petite Sirah
Dark fruit such as blueberries, black currants and dates dominate the nose with n undertone of cedar box in the background. This full-bodied wine exhibits an exellent mid-palate with firm tannins that contribute to a long, lingering finish.
Our Petite Sirah was grown at Chiarito Vineyard, owned and farmed by John Chiarito. John is a second generation Italian-American who planted his vineyard just east of Ukiah, approximately 12 miles north of Hopland. This vineyard is head-pruned, dry-farmed, and cultivated in a very unique and old style method of farming that consists of plowing and cross cultivating - alowing the grapes to maximize the full expression from the soil. The warm days and cool nights of inland Mendocino County are ideal for growing Petite Sirah.
